I prowled a few gun shows hoping to spot one for sale, but I never found one. This was all back in the early 1990's before on-line auction sites and the ready access to discontinued firearms we all enjoy today. 44 Magnum carbine by the time I learned that it existed. 44 Magnum revolver, but Ruger had discontinued the. At the time, I just acquired a beautiful used Smith and Wesson 629. I plan on getting both of these at some point but if I do the cost of after market parts I have put into it will be getting very close to the initial cost of the gun.I've always liked the concept of a pistol caliber carbine ever since someone told me about the Ruger.

Most Everything else improved other aspects such as the trigger pull and the trigger guard lever used to fold the gun, but some other internal springs were replaced.Īlso mcarbo now has replacements for the plastic rear site and has a folding rail that allows for mounting an optic while the firearm is folded with it out of the way of the charging handle as well. Mcarbo provides a high polished stainless steel feed ramp to replace it with and I feel like this has the most to do with the lack of malfunctions. I mainly think this is because the original feed ramp is plastic which seems pretty ridiculous to me. I then bought nearly all of the mcarbo upgrades for the sub 2000 and installed them and have not had a single malfunction with anything since having tried several from the “do not use” list

It was, everything on the list caused malfunctions but everything else I had worked fine. I bought my sub 2000 and tried out a bunch of cheap 9mm that was on the list to see if it was true. The owners manual lists brands and types of ammunition that will not work.
